How to overcome the fear of being a shy person?
It’s not strange that some people are introverts. It’s not a bad thing either.
But sometimes it robs you of the splendid moments of connection with other people and sometimes you doesn’t want to be an introvert.
Any suggestions to overcome the fear of being a shy person?
As for someone who had social anxiety when I was a kid it was really challenging to overcome the fear.
The best thing I did to fight my fear is the step I took willing to become an independent person. I was not allowed to go out without my parents even with my own siblings until I started to go out without permission after I graduated secondary grade.
After I started to go work things started to change slowly. It was the most helpful thing ever. Social events, volunteer works, meetings, presentations pushed me to be more open minded and confident person.
I guess facing my fear is the key here. Being independent and socialising stranger through social events and volunteer works helped me to overcome my fears.
Not that am still comfortable in crowded places. Am really awkward at bigger events but I can say am better than I use to be. 😅
I was a little shy kid myself at my teenage years. Now even I may not be that chatty with a person I meet for the first time. But honestly, I’m very much an extrovert now. 😁
I believe social anxiety is a fear you must face and overcome. It’s also not introversion.
Glad that you shared your experience here. You’re such a brave person, that you pushed yourself to become the confident person you’re now. 😌
